Do You Know?

(To the tune of: The Muffin Man)

Do you know what shape this is,

What shape this is, what shape this is?

Do you know what shape this is

I'm holding in my hand?

**Hold up various shapes!**

Shape Song

**Draw the shape in the air and have the children copy you.**

A circle's like a ball,

A circle's like a ball,

Round and round

It never stops.

A circle's like a ball!

A square is like a box,

A square is like a box,

It has four sides

They are the same.

A square is like a box!

A triangle has three sides,

A triangle has three sides,

Up the mountain

Down, and back,

A triangle has three sides!

A rectangle has four sides,

A rectangle has four sides,

Two are long and

Two are shot.

A rectangle has four sides!

Crafts:

Ice Cream Cones (from: eHow.com)

Teach kids how to make their favorite ice cream cones by pre-cutting large cone shapes out of brown construction paper and "scoops" of ice cream out of pastel colored paper. Tell the kids to make their favorite ice cream cone with up to five flavors of ice cream. Cut pieces of paper into trangular shapes to use as sprinkles on their ice cream.
