Five Dinosaurs
Five enormous dinosaurs, letting out a roar,
One went away and then there were four.
Four enormous dinosaurs, munching on a tree,
One went away and then there were three.
Three enormous dinosaurs didn't know what to do,
One went away and then there were two.
Two enormous dinosaurs having lots of fun,
One went away and then there was one.
One enormous dinosaur afraid to be a hero,
She went away and then there were zero.
Stegosaurus
(Tune: Are You Sleeping)
Stegosaurus, stegosaurus,
In the swamp, in the swamp,
Spines upon your back,
With your tail you whack,
Clomp, clomp, clomp!
Clomp, clomp, clomp!
"Dinosaurumpus" activities:
Five Enormous Dinosaurs
Five enormous dinosaurs,
letting out a roar.
One danced away,
then there were four!
Twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, ROAR!
Four enormous dinosaurs,
crashing down a tree.
One skipped away,
then there were three!
Skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, ROAR!
Three enormous dinosaurs,
eating tiger stew.
One twirled away,
then there were two!
Twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, ROAR!
Two enormous dinosaurs,
resting in the sun.
One shook away,
and then there was one!
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, ROAR!
One enormous dinosaur,
left all alone.
He wiggled away,
and then there were none!
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, ROAR!
To make flannel board pieces, print a picture of each dinosaur and stick it to a square of felt. Write the name of the dino underneath the picture. As you put the pieces out ask the kids what they know about that dino, then sing the verse.
All Through the Swamp
(Tune: The Wheels on the Bus)
The Tyrannosaurus Rex goes grr grr grr
Grr grr grr, Grr grr grr
The Tyrannosaurus Rex goes grr grr grr,
All through the swamp!
The Triceratops’ horns go poke poke poke…
The Stegosaurus tail goes spike, spike, spike…
The Apatasaurus mouth goes munch, munch, munch…
The Pteranodon’s wings go flap flap flap…
Five Dinosaurs
The first big dinosaur went stomp, stomp, stomp
I said to the first dinosaur, "Stop, stop, stop!"
The second big dinosaur went run, run, run,
I said to the second dinosaur, "Fun, fun, fun!"
The third big dinosaur went thump, thump, thump.
I said to the third dinosaur, "Jump, jump, jump!"
The fourth big dinosaur went whack, whack, whack
I said to the fourth dinosaur, "You stay back!"
The fifth big dinosaur went creep, creep, creep.
I said to the fifth dinosaur, "It's time to sleep!"
Dinosaur, Dinosaur
(Tune: Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear)
Dinosaur,dinosaur, turn around.
Dinosaur, dinosaur, touch the ground.
Dinosaur, dinosaur, shut the door.
Dinosaur, dinosaur,jump and roar.
Dinosaur, dinosaur, tie your shoe.
Dinosaur, dinosaur, stomp in goo.
Dinosaur, dinosaur, turn off the light.
Dinosaur, dinosaur, say "Good night."
Dinosaur, Dinosaur, Where Can You Be?
Dinosaur, dinosaur, where can you be? (Hold up hands, palm up, questioningly)
Hiding behind me where you cannot see! (Hide fists behind back)
Now you see one (Bring one hand out)
It's been waiting for you.
Here comes another (Bring out other hand)
And now you see two!

The tyrannosaurus rex had great big teeth,
Great big teeth, great big teeth.
The tyrannosaurus rex had great big teeth,
When the dinosaurs roamed.

I'm Bringing Home A Baby Dinosaur
(Tune: I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee)
I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur,
Won't my mommy fall right through the floor!
I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur,
Ouch! He squished me!
Flat as a pancake!
I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur,
Won't my mommy hide behind the door!
I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur,
Tromp! Tromp! Tromp! Tromp!
Ten Humongous Dinosaurs
Ten humongous dinosaurs,
Standing in a line.
One fell down,
And now there are nine.
Nine humongous dinosaurs,
Playing very late,
One went to bed,
And now there are eight.
Eight humongous dinosaurs,
One of them named Kevin,
Tripped on a mountain,
And now there are seven.
Seven humongous dinosaurs,
Doing lots of tricks.
One bumped his head,
And now there are six.
Six humongous dinosaurs,
Learning how to dive.
One did a belly-flop,
And now there are five.
Five humongous dinosaurs,
Pushing through a door.
One got stuck,
And now there are four.
Four humongous dinosaurs,
Stepping over a tree.
One got a sliver,
And now there are three.
Three humongous dinosaurs,
Going to the zoo.
One teased the tigers,
And now there are two.
Two humongous dinosaurs,
Liked to run and run.
One ran too far,
And now there's only one.
One humongous dinosaur,
Cozy in the sun,
Curled up and fell asleep,
And now there are none!
Crafts:
Dino Scales Hat:
Fold several paper plates in half and staple together at the top and bottom so it looks like ridges going down your back. Staple the last plate on top at a 90 degree angle to the rest - this is the one that will sit on your head. Punch holes and tie yarn on to hold it on your head. Decorate any way you like!
Stegosaurus:
Copy stegosaurus template onto green construction paper and cut out. Glue tissue paper squares on for plates. Glue on a wiggly eye.
Template: Dinosaur.bmp
Name-O-Saurus
Cut large green circles and smaller triangles and rectangles. Arrange the smaller pieces around the circle to look like dinosaur back ridges, tail, and legs. Add wiggly eyes and name your dinosaur (eg. Callie-O-Saurus, Emily-O-Saurus)
