Melting Snowman Fingerplay

Here's a snowman, round and fat; (make circe with arms)

Out comes the sun and melts his hat. (touch head)

Here's a snowman with a scarf of red;

Out comes the sun and melts his head. (touch head)

Here's a snowman, fit as a fiddle;

Out comes the sun and melts his middle. (touch stomach)

Here's a snowman who waits for dawn;

Out comes the sun and he's all gone!

5 Little Snowmen

5 little snowmen standing round my door

This one melted, and then there were four.

4 little smowmen beneath a tree

This one melted, and then there were three!

3 little snowmen all have mittens blue

This one melted and then there were 2.

2 little snowmen standing in the sun

This one melted and then there was 1

1 little snowman wanted to run

But he melted away, and then there was none!

Reindeer Pokey

(Tune: Hokey Pokey)

You put your hooves in

You put your hooves out

You put your hooves in

and you shake 'em all about

You do the reindeer pokey

And you turn yourself around

That's what it's all about.

You put your antlers in

You put your antlers out

You put your antlers in

And you shake it all about

You do the reindeer pokey

And you turn yourself around

That''s what it's all about.

You put your tail in

You put your tail out

You put your tail in

And you shake it all about

You do the reindeer pokey

And you turn yourself around

That's what it's all about.

Crafts:

Christmas Trees

Use a Christmas Tree Accucut from NCLS (There is a small one [Christmas Tree #2], a large one [Christmas Tree #EX-1] and a very large one [Christmas Tree #EXX-1]. Let children decorate the trees with ribbons, pom poms, sequins, etc. Use the star accucut [Star Mini L-6] to cut yellow stars for the top.

Christmas Tree Cutout Picture

Use the paper that the tree was cut out of (Using NCLS Accucut "Christmas Tree #1 EXX-1") Place each cut out on a piece of contact paper of the same size. Have the kids stick on the sequins first, then shake some green glitter on top. (If you put the glitter on first, the sequins won’t stick to the contact paper) Glue a yellow star on the top of the tree. You can cover it with a second sheet of contact paper if desired.

3-D Christmas Tree

Use the Box-Pyramid (KX-4) Accucut cut the pattern from green paper. Fold and glue the box together, tying a bow at the top with yellow ribbon. (You could also cut mini stars with the accucut and glue one to each side, making the star 3-D too) Decorate the box with buttons, ribbons, sequins, markers, etc, until it looks like a decorated christmas tree.
