Baby's Nap
(Say this rhyme twice, using ‘daddy's lap’ the second time around)
Here is a baby, ready for his nap Hold up pointer finger of one hand
Lay him down in his mama's lap Put finger in palm of other hand
Now cover him up so he won't peep Close fingers around your "baby" finger
and rock your baby 'til he's fast asleep! Rock fingers back and forth.
Rock- A- Bye Baby
Rock- A- Bye baby on the tree top.
When the wind blows the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall.
And down will come baby cradle and all.
Pat-a-Cake
Pat a cake; pat a cake,
Baker's man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can!
Pat it and roll it,
And mark it with a "B".
And put it in the oven for baby and me!

Five Little Babies
Five little babies were playing together one day.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX GAME
Place items such as a baby brush, a bar of baby soap, a cotton ball, a pacifier, a rubber teether and a rattle, etc in a box with a hole cut out of the top. Have the children take turns feeling an item in the box and guessing what it is by its feel.

"BABY BORN" Picture
To go with Baby Born book by Anastasia Suen
Give each child a long oval on which to color the blanket, and a small circle with a baby face to color in. Glue the baby face near the top of the oval, and you have a baby in a blanket. If you have scraps of printed paper, like wallpaper or scrapbooking paper, cut these out in the oval shape, to make the baby blankets and let the kids glue the faces on. They can make several and glue them onto a piece of paper to remind them of the book.
