A Kiss

There's something in my pocket,

Could it be a moose?

Could it be a train with a bell and a caboose?

Could it be a snake or some sticky glue?

Right here in my pocket is a KISS from me to you!

(blow kiss)

Special Friend

(Tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb)

You're a special friend of mine,

Friend of mine,

Friend of mine.

You're a special friend of mine,

Be my valentine.

I'm a Little Valentine

Red and White

With ribbons and lace

I'm a beautiful sight

On Valentine's Day

Just put me in an envelope

And give me away

Crafts:

Valentine Flowers

You will need the Flower Accucut (Flower #1B), heart Accucut (Heart Mini E-11), leaves Accucut (Leaves Mini #1A I-7) and pipe cleaners. Glue a heart to a flower and poke the pipe cleaner through the center of both. bend it down a bit so it won't slip back through. Poke the pipe cleaner through the leaves and pull them up the stem.

Pop-Up Card

Cut colored construction paper into 1/2 pages and fold to make a card. Glue the top edges of the heart to the card, folding in the middle so it pops outward. Put wiggly eyes or sticker eyes and sticker mouth or draw a mouth on the heart. Glue smaller hearts cut from wrapping paper or pink and red paper all over the rest of the card. NCLS Accucuts: Heart #5 Pinked (E-10) for the large heart and Heart Mini (E-11) for the small hearts to decorate with.

Hug To You Card

Cut out hand shapes from red construction paper using the Accucut "Hand Open". Cut long lengths of yarn. Attach a handprint to each end of the yarn. Fold construction paper to make cards. Secure the middle of the yarn to the center of one side of the card with a sticker. Glue the printed poem to the other side. Have kids decorate the outside of the card with heart cutouts, flower pictures from magazines, markers, whatever.

A Valentine Hug to You

Wrap these hands around you,

Whenever you’re away.

Then you can have a hug from me

Anytime of day!

Handful of Love Card

Cut hand and heart shapes using accucuts ('Hand Open' and 'Heart #5 Pinked') Glue the heart shape into the middle of the hands and add the label saying "A Handful of Love Just for You". Glue it into a folded piece of construction paper to make a card and decorate the front.

Label: Handful of love label.pub

Valentine Mobile

Cut large and small hearts and the top of the mobile using the accucut machine. Attach the hearts using thin curling ribbon. Tape several hearts to one string. You can also glue small hearts in larger hearts for a more decorative look.

Love Bug

This is a really cute craft using toilet paper rolls and construction paper. http://www.education.com/activity/article/valentine-day-love-bugs/

Valentine Heart Necklaces

Cut yarn into necklace strings and cut straws into 1 inch pieces. Set these aside as they will be your string and beads. Cut hearts out (or use accucut machine) and punch holes into the top of them. Have children color their hearts and/or write messages in them. Then, string beads and hearts onto their necklaces and tie when finished!
