Millie Moose’s Birthday Party (Flannelboard)

Way up North where it’s cold, cold, cold.

Millie the moose is three years old.                             (Place one moose on the flannelboard)

“It’s my birthday!’ she said. “ Let’s celebrate!

Let’s have a party! I just can’t wait.”

“Now let’s see—who will come to my party?

I know—I’ll ask my good friend, Marty.”                

“Marty can bring his sister, Sue.

She thinks of wonderful things to do!”

Marty and Sue brought a birthday cake.                    (Place the birthday cake on the board)

They put the candles on her antlers,

for goodness sake!                                                      (Put the three candles on Millie’s antlers)

Jake brought Millie a bright red bow

To tie on her antlers, and she did—just so.                (Put the red bow on Millie’s antlers)

 

Millie’s friend Belinda came to wish her well.

Her brother gave Millie a pretty hat.

Bob, her neighbor, brought a robin’s nest.

Her sister Betty gave Millie a daisy.

Millie was beginning to look a sight

When her mother added a string of lights.                 (Put the string of lights on Millie’s antlers)

Millie said, “Now, just look at me.

I’m beginning to look like a Christmas tree!”

Her daddy chuckled, “You silly goose!

You’re a special, beautiful birthday moose!”

Her friends all sang, “It’s true, it’s true!

Happy birthday, dear Millie,

Moose Doorhanger: Use NCLS Accucut "Door Hanger GX-2" to cut doorhangers. Cut moose and the letter 'M' using accucuts "Moose #2 Small" and "Lolli Shadow Lower M". (You can use the Upper case letter, but it will hang over a bit). Let kids glue the moose and letter "m" onto their door hanger and color them in.
