The Button Song
(Chant the words, adding the 'push the button' motion described in each verse)
Hi, my name is Joe.
I got a wife and three kids,
I work in a button factory.
One day, the boss came to me and said,
“Joe, are you busy?” I said no,
He said, "Push this button with your right hand".
Hi, my name is Joe.
I got a wife and three kids,
I work in a button factory.
One day, the boss came to me and said,
“Joe, are you busy?” I said no,
He said, "Push this button with your left hand".
Hi, my name is Joe.
I got a wife and three kids,
I work in a button factory.
One day, the boss came to me and said,
“Joe, are you busy?” I said no,
He said, "Push this button with your right leg".
Hi, my name is Joe.
I got a wife and three kids,
I work in a button factory.
One day, the boss came to me and said,
“Joe, are you busy?” I said no,
He said, "Push this button with your left leg".
Hi, my name is Joe.
I got a wife and three kids,
I work in a button factory.
One day, the boss came to me and said,
“Joe, are you busy?” I said no,
He said, "Push this button with your head".
Hi, my name is Joe.
I got a wife and three kids,
I work in a button factory.
One day, the boss came to me and said,
“Joe, are you busy?” I said no,
He said, "Push this button with your tongue".
Hi, my name is Joe.
I got a wife and three kids,
I work in a button factory.
One day, the boss came to me and said,
“Joe, are you busy?”
I SAID "YES!!!"
Our Button Song
(Tune: Did You Ever See a Lassie?)
Let's sing a song of buttons,
Of buttons, of buttons,
Let's sing a song of buttons,
That fasten our clothes!
There are big ones and small ones,
With two holes and four holes.
Let's sing a song of buttons
That fasten our clothes.
Mary Has Buttons on Her Shirt
(Tune: Mary had a Little Lamb)
(Substitute a child's name or make a flannel board person with a shirt full of buttons)
Mary has buttons on her shirt,
On her shirt, on her shirt,
Mary has buttons on her shirt,
Let's all count them now.
I Have Buttons On My Shirt
(Tune: Mary had a Little Lamb)
Wear a shirt or vest with lots of large buttons sewn onto it so that you can count them.
I have buttons on my shirt,
on my shirt, on my shirt.
I have buttons on my shirt;
Let's all count them now!
Crafts:
Button Flowers
Cut bright colored flowers using the Accucut "Flower #1B". Thread a pipe cleaner through a flower shape. Thread a button on top of the flower and push the pipe cleaner back through the flower. Twist in the back to secure.
Button Frame
Cut frames using the Accucut "Frame Fold-Up #2" or "Note Card Window VX-12". Glue buttons onto the frame using white glue and allow lots of time to dry!
