Bear Hide-and-Seek Flannelboard activity
Cut out a bear and several other shapes in different colors, like trees, bushes, houses, etc (it can be whatever you can make - it doesn't really matter. Hide the bear under one of the shapes on the flannel board and recite the rhyme with the kids. Have them name an object or color and then flip it over and see if the bear is hiding there.
Little bear, little bear,
Are you hiding under there?
Five Little Bears
Five little bears were sitting on the ground.
Five little bears made a deep growling sound: Grrrrr!
The first one said,"Let's have a look around."
The second one said, "I feel rather funny!"
The third one said, "I think I smell honey."
The fourth one said, "Shall we climb up the tree?"
The fifth one said, "Look out! There's a bee!"
So the five little bears went back to their play,
And decided to wait till the bees flew away.
The Bear Game
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
Where have you been?
I've been to play with another bear friend.
Where did you go and
What did you do?
We played a bear game two by two.
Take one step forward,
Take two steps back,
Turn all around, jump front, jump back.
This little bear game,
Is not hard to do,
Just grab a partner and you can do it too!
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear turn around.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear touch the ground.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear show your shoe.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear that will do.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear reach up high.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear touch the sky.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear rest your head.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear go to bed.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear turn out the light
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear say, "good night!"
A Bear Loves Honey
A bear loves honey
He thinks it’s yummy
(rub tummy)
Oh! But please
Watch out for the bees
(shake finger)
Bzzz...Bzzz
(wiggle fingers)
The Bear Went Over The Mountain
The bear went over the mountain,
The bear went over the mountain,
The bear went over the mountain,
To see what he could see!
-name something he might see-
He saw a great big river,
He saw a great big river,
He saw a great big river,
And that is what he saw!
Little Bear, Little Bear
(Tune: Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear)
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Touch your nose.
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Touch your eyes.
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Tap your toes.
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Slap your thighs.
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Clap your hands.
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Turn around.
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Shake your head.
Little Bear, Little Bear,
Sit back down.
Honey Bears
(count on fingers)
This little honey bear was playing peek-a-boo,
Here is another, now there are two!
Two little honey bears said "lets climb a tree",
Up came another, now there are three!
Three little honey bears looking out the door,
Along came another, now there are four!
Four little honey bears found a beehive,
Here comes another, now there are five!
Five Little Polar Bears
Five little polar bears,
Playing near the shore,
One tumbled in,
And then there were four.
Four little polar bears
Swimming in the sea.
One chased a seal,
And then there were three.
Three little polar bears,
What shall we do?
One went swimming
And then there were two.
Two little polar bears
Playing in the sun
One took a nap
And then there was one.
One little polar bear,
Not very old.
“Where’s my mom?
I’m hungry and cold.”
